Thirty years in the field.
I started at a parts counter, worked my way into the shop foreman’s role, and thirty years later founded Propane Works. Today I’m a Railroad Commission-approved instructor for the three courses that carry state credit: service & installation, dispenser, and bobtail operations.
I teach the way the work actually carries liability: a propane marketer owns the gas from the tank to the burner tip, the whole system. So every class ends with a record cited to the code, the answer an inspector or an insurer is looking for.
FAQs
Does the class count for Railroad Commission credit?
For the courses taught by a Commission-approved outside instructor, yes: dispenser operations (2.1), bobtail operations (2.3), and residential service & installation (3.2). Attendance is filed with the State within three business days, and every seat gets a certificate with the source trail.
Do we come to your yard, or do you come to our Mexia shop?
Both. Bring your crew to our Mexia shop, or the class comes to your yard or facility anywhere in Texas. On-site is usually the better value once you have four or more people.
Who actually needs this?
Dispenser fillers, bobtail and transport drivers, service and installation technicians, and the one everyone forgets: whoever answers the phone. Anyone who could take an emergency call needs the CSR module.
What about DOT hazmat recurrence?
Hazmat training is required initially and again every three years for everyone who handles or transports propane. We run both, and the record is dated and filed so the next audit is a lookup, not a scramble.
Is the class a record you can keep?
That's the point. Every course produces a training record with a citation trail back to NFPA 58/54 and the RRC, the documentation that answers the insurer and the inspector before they finish the question.
